Pink Floyd New Album ‘Endless River’

Pink Floyd have revealed the third preview of their new album, ‘The Endless River’. Check it out here (

The band will release ‘The Endless River’ on November 10, the album will include music recorded with multi-instrumentalist Richard Wright, who died in 2008 aged 65. This latest preview follows two previous 30-second clips released in September.

Meanwhile, Roger Waters recently issued an angry statement about his lack of involvement in the new Pink Floyd album. Waters, who left the band in 1985, issued the message to fans via Facebook after receiving inquiries as to his role in ‘The Endless River’. Explaining that he has nothing to do with the album and that he is no longer a member of the band, Waters signed off the message by telling people to “get a grip”.

Speaking last year, drummer Nick Mason revealed that he would be interested in a full band reunion with Waters, but was not certain it will ever materialise.

Velvet Underground 45th Anniversary Reissue

By mid-1967, ONLY a few months after The Velvet Underground’s debut album was released, their iconic ice queen singer Nico was a solo artist, and pop art svengali Andy Warhol was no longer managing and feeding the group. Warhol’s parting gift: the all-black cover idea for their follow-up – the album they would name White Light/White Heat. Meanwhile, the band scrabbled to survive in the drug-soaked art-scene demi-monde of Manhattan’s Lower East Side.

There were mounting internal tensions, too, over direction and control between Lou Reed and John Cale, the group’s founders, especially after their debut album’s failure to launch. “White Light/White Heat was definitely the raucous end of what we did,” Morrison affirmed. But, he insisted, “We were all pulling in the same direction. We may have been dragging each other off a cliff, but we were definitely all going in the same direction.”

Nearly every song on the album contains some sort of experimental or avant-garde quality. “The Gift”, for example, contains a recital of a short story and a loud instrumental rock song playing simultaneously, with the former on the left speaker channel and the latter on the right. “I Heard Her Call My Name” is distinguishable for its distorted guitar solos and prominent use of feedback.

When the Velvet Underground’s second album descended on the world in January, 1968, nobody was ready for it. The Velvet Underground and Nico, the year before, had had Andy Warhol’s imprimatur to promise that its passages of bleeding-raw chaos were art; it had also had the complicated but unmistakable beauty of the songs Nico sang as a lifeline for the tiny mainstream audience that caught on to it at the time. White Light/White Heat didn’t have either.

The iconic album has been released as a reissue this year to mark it 45th anniversary.

Johnny Cash Fanpac Favourite

Johnny Cash’s Childhood home opens to the public.

The home has been restored by the late singer’s children in a bid to help revive the town in arkansas.

Johnny Cash’s childhood home is set to be opened to the public, as part of a bid to boost the town that he grew up in.

When visitors walk into the home, they are stepping back into the 1930s. Cash family artefacts original to the home include the piano that belonged to Johnny’s mother, his father’s shaving mug and even the original flooring in his childhood bedroom.

“We’ve got everything just as it was,” Joanne Cash, now 76, told the New York Times. “It took a lot of hard work. It’s been very emotional for me.”

The refurbishment is part of an effort to drive tourism to Dyess. Dyess, Arkansas, was an experiment in president Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal programme, which aimed to help the US economy bounce back from the Great Depression. The Cashes were among 500 families specially selected by the initiative to be given a small home, some farmland, money and a mule to try and rebuild their lives.

In his 1997 autobiography, “Cash,” he credited his state with inspiring his music. “Back in Arkansas, a way of life produced a certain kind of music.”

Johnny Cash is a Fanpac favourite, the singer-songwriter in widely considered one of the most influential American musicians of the 20th century. A true Arkansas legend!

The first London Fashion Week of the year has ended, and what an amazing week it was! Fanpac has attended many shows and thought we must share our notes and thoughts with you right here! Below is our exclusive report on memorable Autumn/Winter 2014 trends:

Stand out pieces were shown on the catwalk this season in a ray of colours. There were sequins, metallics and velvet shoes from the wonderful House of Holland. The clashes of colours, from green to blue, were combined with cool slogan tees and backpacks to give it that edgy feel. This A/W 14 has shown to mix up your street style with some fun disco metallics paired with a super cool tee…stay away from those matte blacks next season!

Moving away from the monochrome, we’re seeing more autumnal colours from greens and browns but in relaxed dresses and jackets. We’re seeing a more relaxed vibe with trends in the season to come splashed with brushstrokes of colour.

Add some nerd to your wardrobe next season with your favourite Star Wars character on your tee! However, it will now be acceptable to wear in a smart occasion, pairing it with a pencil skirt or a smart suit you can look super sophisticated yet totally on trend!

There were a range of styles this season however it has given the message of mixing and matching your opposites. We say don’t always wear a tee with jeans, but why not try a FANPAC tee with something sparkly for the evening or smart in the day. Mix your palette of colours to look on trend and fabulous in the A/W 2014 season!

How amazing does Paloma Faith look at LFW! Amazing as always and we especially love her printed fanpac-esq tee!

STYLE FILE: Blondie’s Debbie Harry

Calling all BLONDIE fans out there! In a few weeks time we’ll be celebrating the 40th Anniversary of BLONDIE so it seemed only right to create a style file for lead singer Debbie Harry so we can reminisce on some of her most iconic shots and outfits before the Blondie hype kicks off!

40th Anniversary…

In 1974, Blondie pushed punk onto the New Wave dance floor and helped introduce hip-hop to the masses. Now, after 40 years, the band is as inventive and forward-thinking as ever. “We’re gonna re-establish ourselves in a way that we haven’t done in a while,” Debbie Harry says. This spring, she and her bandmates will release a two-disc package entitled Blondie 4(0) Ever, pairing one album of their greatest hits with another set of completely new tracks. “We’ve got this new music we’ve been playing, and it’s relevant, and important to me that people are saying the new music really fits in perfectly with the Blondie music that they know, and how interesting and beautiful it is that they fit together like that,” she says. “And we can do an almost seamless kind of show that goes over a long time, a lot of years.” (Vanity Fair reports)

The Fanpac team couldn’t be more excited to celebrate BLONDIE and with new Tee’s and products being launched very soon(WATCH THIS SPACE!)… it’s the perfect time to shout about it and join us in this celebration so invest in one of our BLONDIE tees and celebrate in style…

Jake, Lewis, Grant and Ben have  most recently played in Goldsmiths Student Union for freshers week, for the Oxjam festival in Greenwich and Camden wearing their Fanpac tees with pride! With Fanpac’s strong connection to Freshers especially with the recent exciting collaboration with ‘The Student Guide’ magazine this couldn’t be a more ideal campaign pushing the brands love for music, fashion and freshers whilst spreading the Fanpac word across music loving freshers across the country!

The bands main target audience are students which ties in perfectly with the latest launches by Fanpac, and it seems the tees have had an awesome reception after hearing such positive feedback.

GIVE ME THE SUN are not only talented songwriters and musicians but  have a keen eye for looking good too which is where Fanpac comes in! As they’re 19/20 years old, they’re style reflects their chilled out vibe perfectly and they more often than n0t rock different variations of slim fit jeans, tees and patterned shirts. As they played for Goldsmiths Student Union wearing their Fanpac tees, their skills in music prove to be amazing…as well as their style. Lewis and Jake love their Doc Martens, rolled up jeans and jackets, Ben is a denim lover and Grant wears whatever he feels like but one thing they all have in common is their love of band tees.

Jake wore our Pink Floyd Dark Side tee as they thought it would fit into their music stage style. The band loves the range and diversity of musical tees Fanpac offers. Jake said “I picked the Pink Floyd tee because I love the band and the album is great.” Definitely a music inspiration.
